Class “A” (must be 18 years of age minimally) - Class “A” officials with the Michigan Sport Karate Association have been certified to referee or officiate at all levels in a sport karate event. Center officials in all Black Belt divisions should be Class “A” officials. When possible, all center officials should be Class “A” status. A Class “A” official must demonstrate at all times the highest levels of professional decorum in and outside of the ring at MSKC events realizing that they are a positive representation of the entire sport.
Class “B” (must be 16 years of age minimally) - A Class “B” official will have the ability to serve as a side official in any division and perform as a center official in the absence of a Class “A” official. These occurrences should be documented. Limited performances as a center official is one of the requirements for advancement to the Class “A “level. Class “B” officials must attend a minimum of 8 MSKC events in order to qualify for the Class “A’ certification exam.

MSKC Judges Certification Program
When you have completed the test please return it to Dan Cousineau. He will review it and issue you a MSKC officials badge that will have your picture and level of certification on it. This Badge will allow you to judge at all MSKC events.
